Portfolio: Tracey Eyles’ EDDL 5141 Portfolio
Welcome to My EDDL 5141 Portfolio
Hello, and thank you for visiting my online portfolio! My name is Tracey Eyles, and this is the 8th course I am taking towards a Master of Education at Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia. My academic and professional journey is deeply rooted in advocating for the rights and well-being of children and youth, with a particular focus on those with lived experiences in the care system and Indigenous children and youth.
As an advocate with the Representative for Children and Youth, I am currently working as a Knowledge Mobilization Advisor, focusing on strategic engagement and translating information and research from our office to shift the systems responsible for supporting children and youth and their families. I have been engaged in a systemic review of the child welfare system, working to identify opportunities for meaningful change. Principles of rights-based education, decolonizing education practices, and knowledge mobilization guide my professional work and research. I am passionate about building relationships, fostering community engagement, and exploring how systemic transformation can empower children and youth to thrive.
Through my studies and this portfolio, I aim to integrate my academic learning with my professional practice to create impactful solutions in education and child advocacy. My long-term aspiration is to move into executive leadership within government, where I can lead systemic change through education and knowledge mobilization and champion the rights of children and youth.
This portfolio reflects my learning journey in EDUC 5131 and showcases my work, insights, and progress throughout the course. I look forward to connecting with others who are passionate about creating equitable and transformative systems.
