Hi everyone, welcome to the shiny new EDDL program environment. If you look closely you can still see the little rubber things on the sidewalls.

As you can see in the footer, this environment was built in something called Commons in a Box Openlab, which is also a brand new environment that joins Commons in a Box Classic (as it is now called).

I could tell you all about it, but the Commons in a Box folks have done a great job of that already at: https://commonsinabox.org/. Given them a visit and have a look around.

Everything is here pretty logically labelled, but you will probably spend the majority of your time in your courses off the course menu. Each course has module and activity content, but it also has a discussion forum, collaborative documents area, file uploads, recent activity and other goodies.

There is also an area for you to build a portfolio, or if you have one you already use you can list it there as well.

The best advice we can give is to poke around meeting people, add them to your friends and generally interact.

Shiny new things in the computing and online worlds typically contain some growing pains. And while we have worked hard to eliminate them, I’m sure there are a few hidden around still. When you find them, please post about them in the Help Group (on the Project menu).

We hope that the help group will take on a community feel. Try to pop in both when you need help, but also when you figure something out that you want to share with others. Of course, the staff behind the environment will also maintain a presence to help where we can and so we know when there’s something we need to work on.

We hope you have a great time here.
